Our Mission

 
To leverage UCR's resources and stimulate convergent efforts & multidisciplinary coordinated interventions to achieve a more sustainable and equitable agriculture and food system.
 
Cross-communication and Interdisciplinarity

Facilitate cross-communication and connections among those interested in food and agriculture on our campus and in our community for the betterment of our region, state, nation and world.

 

Agri-Food Systems

Improve systems for food production, processing, transportation, commerce, and utilization to advance environmental, economic, and social sustainability.

 

Research and Outreach

Stimulate the creation and improvement of knowledge-based research and outreach projects and securing funding for new initiatives at the intersection of food and agriculture as well as food, diet and health.

 

Curriculum

Identifying existing educational efforts and developing an interdisciplinary Food Systems curriculum.

To be the campus-based catalyst for shaping ideas into real-world solutions to impact science, policies and practices related to agriculture, food and sustainability for the betterment of the health and well-being of humanity and the planet.
